Major US stock indices slumped on Wednesday as Middle East tensions escalated after President Donald Trump said an interim ceasefire deal aimed at ending the war with Iran was “over.”
At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 166.7 points, or 0.31%, to 52,758.47. The S&P 500 fell 27.3 points, or 0.36%, to 7,476.54, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 114.0 points, or 0.44%, to 25,704.66.
