Stock market crash: Market barometers, the Sensex and the Nifty 50, declined for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, 12 May, amid mixed global cues.
The 30-share index dropped over 700 points to an intraday low of 75,276, while the NSE counterpart fell nearly 1% to the day’s low of 23,618.
In these four consecutive sessions, the Sensex has crashed 2,700 points, or more than 3%, while the Nifty 50 has shed 3%.
Investors have lost about ₹11 lakh crore in just four sessions, as the overall market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms dropped to ₹462 lakh crore in morning deals on Tuesday from ₹473 lakh crore on Wednesday, 6 May.
