Rain Industries – Q1 ResultSegment performanceRain Industries share price today

Rain Industries share price surged over 4% on Monday, 24 August, amid a sharp rise in crude oil prices as escalating tensions surrounding the US-Iran war continued to drive volatility across global commodity markets. The stock gained as investors tracked developments in the energy market and their potential impact on industrial commodities and related sectors.

Crude oil prices have remained high amid concerns about potential supply disruptions in the Middle East, especially in light of renewed US sanctions on Iran and the prospect of further restrictions. The increased geopolitical instability has led to volatility in oil markets, prompting investors to closely monitor how this could affect global supply chains and energy-intensive sectors.

Brent crude slipped to around $93 a barrel after gaining nearly 13% over the past two weeks, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) traded near $86 a barrel. Investors are awaiting further details of the US administration’s plan to increase economic pressure on Iran.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is expected to outline the measures at a press conference and has urged US allies to support the initiative in an interview with CNBC.

Oil prices have risen more than 50% this year, as the six-month-old US-Iran war continues to disrupt global supplies of crude and refined products. However, the extent to which Washington can further squeeze Tehran remains uncertain. Any stronger action could involve targeting China, the largest buyer of Iranian crude, potentially increasing the risk of retaliation and broader economic fallout.

Segment performance

Carbon: Revenue increased 17.9% YoY to ₹4,021 crore, supported by stronger realisations and higher calcination volumes. Operating profit rose 33.6% to ₹773 crore, with the margin expanding to 19.2%. Strong utilisation at Indian CPC plants, improved spreads, efficient raw material sourcing, and favourable foreign exchange supported profitability.

Advanced Materials: Revenue grew 26.3% YoY to ₹1,198 crore, driven by higher volumes in chemical intermediates and resins, along with improving customer demand. Operating profit surged 190.5% YoY to ₹161 crore, while the operating margin expanded to 13.4% on improved spreads, higher utilisation, disciplined pricing and cost optimisation.

Cement: Revenue declined 8.9% YoY to ₹297 crore due to lower volumes amid intense competition in South India. However, the segment returned to profitability, reporting an operating profit of ₹6 crore compared with a loss of ₹1 crore in Q1CY26.

Meanwhile, global aluminium supply remained tight during the quarter due to partial disruptions at Middle Eastern smelters, supporting demand and pricing for CPC and CTP products.

Rain Industries share price today

Sudeep Shah, Head of Technical and Derivatives Research at SBI Securities, said Rain Industries has been consolidating in the ₹200–218 range since August 11. During this period, the stock has sustained above its 50-day EMA, which has continued to act as a key dynamic support.

Shah noted that momentum indicators are showing early signs of improvement, with the +DI crossing above the -DI on the ADX indicator, suggesting that buyers are gradually gaining strength over sellers.
