Mumbai Police have registered a case against the location manager of the upcoming film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ for allegedly operating a drone without mandatory clearance in South Mumbai’s high‑security Fort area, NDTV reported.

The FIR, lodged on Sunday at MRA Marg police station, names Rinku Rajpal Valmiki, and invokes Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for wilfully disobeying orders.

According to police officials, a drone was deployed to film a sequence during the shoot despite no official permission being granted for its use. The FIR states the team proceeded with the drone operation in violation of regulations governing unmanned aerial vehicles in sensitive zones.

The entire film crew, including actor Sanjay Dutt, was reportedly present at the location during the incident on Feb 1.

The Fort precinct had been extensively dressed for the production from Jan 30 onward, transformed to resemble an old, bustling street in Pakistan for the film sequence. Police inquiries are ongoing, and further action will depend on the outcome of the investigation.

Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh on Tuesday shared the first-look poster of the sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’. Directed by Aditya Dhar, ‘Dhurandhar’ released on Dec 5, 2025 and also starred Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan and Rakesh Bedi. The sequel is set to release in theatres on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

The 40-year-old actor uploaded the post on his Instagram handle. “Ab Bigadne Ka Waqt Aa Gaya Hai. ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’.” The teaser was released today at 12:15 p.m. The movie is set to release on March 19 in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Set in Lyari town of Karachi, an area known for its history of gang wars and violent turf battles, ‘Dhurandhar’ revolved around covert intelligence operations at the background of geopolitical and terror events like Kandahar plane hijack, 2001 Parliament Attack and 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Produced by Dhar and his brother Lokesh Dhar through their banner B62 Studios alongside Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, the film earned over Rs 1,300 crore at the worldwide box office.
