Hello and welcome to our live coverage of Indian stock markets.
The GIFT Nifty, an early indicator of the Nifty 50’s performance, traded little changed at 25,793.50. The trade deal has set the main cue for markets after months of outflows. The rupee strengthened against the dollar and recorded its best day in seven years on expectations the deal will draw foreign inflows into Indian assets.
On Tuesday, investors wealth rose by more than Rs 12 lakh crore after Indian stocks posted their best single-day rise in nine months after India signed a trade deal with the United States on Feb. 2. Financial stocks led the move, and export-focused shares helped lift the wider market after the deal eased a key source of uncertainty for domestic assets.
