Adani Group companies stand as one of the key beneficiaries of the recently announced US-India trade deal, which could reshape the dynamics of the Indian stock market and could serve as a major boost to several key sectors, including gems and jewellery, textiles and energy.

In its latest note, Jefferies has highlighted some of the key sectors which could stand to benefit from the trade deal that will see tariffs on India’s exports into the US go down from 50% to just 18%. The brokerage firm has labelled Adani Group companies as key beneficiaries.

This is largely on account of the Adani Group companies’ significant exposure to the US, adds Jefferies, which has also highlighted auto ancillaries, solar manufacturers, chemical companies and textiles as some of the other sectors likely to benefit from the trade deal.

In the auto anc space, the brokerage firm has highlighted some key stocks, including Sona BLW and Bharat Forge, while the likes of Waaree Energies, Premier Energies and Emmvee stand as potential gainers in the solar manufacturing space.

In the chemical sector, Jefferies has highlighted Navin Flourine, PI Industries and SRF before rounding up Welspun Living in the textile industry, due to the company’s significant exposure to foreign markets.

Jefferies India Strategy – Key Portfolio Changes

Jefferies has also made some key portfolio changes in its India Strategy report, including the addition of Eternal in the model portfolio, citing the stock as a favourite for foreign portfolio investors.

The brokerage firm has also added metals to its model portfolio, trimming exposure to IT companies in the process. Jefferies added that if the landed price of imported oil/gas from the US turns out to be more expensive, then it would be a negative for oil marketing companies.
