The stock indices on Wall Street were flat in shortened Christmas Eve trading on Wednesday.
At 09:30 A.M. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 42.67 points, or 0.09%, to 48,399.74. The S&P 500 lost 0.70 points, or 0.01%, to 6,909.09, and the Nasdaq Composite dipped 25.58 points, or 0.06%, to 23,542.31 points.
