Piramal Finance, a large Indian non-banking financial company (NBFC), is raising funds of up to ₹2,100 crore through a qualified institutions placement (QIP). In an exchange filing on 24 August, the company said its board had authorised the opening of the issue on 24 August 2026.

The board approved the floor price for the issue at ₹2102.65 per share.

“We wish to inform you that the committee has fixed the ‘relevant date’ for the purpose of the issue as 24 August, 2026, and the floor price in respect of the issue is ₹2,102.65 per share,” said the company.

The company, according to sources, intends to use the funds raised from the QIP to meet capital requirements for lending and to meet capital adequacy ratios, among other things.

Meanwhile, the company’s board also approved the issuance of warrants by way of a preferential issue on a private placement basis to Nithyam Realty Private Limited, a promoter of the company with whom it has entered into an investment agreement.

The company will issue up to 82,94,000 warrants with a face value of ₹2 each, at an issue price of ₹2,110 per warrant, aggregating to ₹1750.03 crore. The approved issue price of ₹2,110 per share is ₹24.94 higher than the floor price of ₹2085.06.

As per the exchange filing, the subscriber will pay 25% of the issue price per warrant at the time of subscription, and the remaining 75% per warrant will be payable by the subscriber upon the exercise of the warrants into equity shares of the company.

The tenor of the warrants is 18 months from the date of their allotment. It will be exercised in one or more tranches during the tenor. Any unconverted warrants will lapse, with the amount paid by the subscriber on such warrants forfeited, the company said.

Earlier on 16 July, the company, while reporting its June quarter earnings, informed that the board had approved raising funds up to ₹4,000 crore.

Piramal Finance Q1 results

Piramal Finance on 16 July reported profit after tax (PAT) of ₹ 461 crore, up 67% year-on-year (YoY), for the first quarter ended 30 June 2026.

The company’s assets under management (AUM) increased 25% YoY to ₹1,06,940 crore, driven by 32% YoY increase in growth AUM, which excludes the discontinued legacy business, as per the company.

Retail disbursements rose 44% YoY to ₹12,527 crore, reflecting strong customer demand and sustained business momentum. The company’s nationwide footprint expanded to 780 branches across 607 cities in 26 states, while its customer franchise grew 24% YoY to 60 lakh, further strengthening its presence across India.

Piramal Finance share price trend

The NBFC stock has gained 33% year-to-date against a 9% decline in the equity benchmark Sensex.

Piramal Finance share price hit a 52-week high of ₹2,220 on 17 July this year and a 52-week low of ₹1,235.15 on 7 November last year on the BSE.

On Tuesday, 25 August, the stock traded volatile, touching intraday highs and lows of ₹2,194.10 and ₹2,160.70, respectively, against its previous close of ₹2,181.45.
